Ghee & Kaaram was born from a simple conviction — that the finest food is never rushed, never compromised, and never forgotten. We carry the flavours of Tamil Nadu into your home, exactly as they were meant to be.
Ours smelled like sesame oil crackling in an iron kadai, of rice flour being kneaded by practiced hands at four in the morning, of cardamom pods split open on a stone grinder worn smooth over three generations. That smell — warm, sharp, deeply familiar — is the reason Ghee & Kaaram exists.
We did not start this brand to fill a gap in the market. We started it because we were tired of watching something irreplaceable disappear quietly — the handmade murukku that took an hour to press and three minutes to finish, the halwa that required someone standing at a flame with full attention and no shortcuts, the millet sweet that nobody bothered to make anymore because it was simply too much work.
Too much work. We refuse to accept that. Every batch we craft is still made the slow way — by hand, in small quantities, with ingredients sourced from the same soil that has fed Tamil families for centuries. No preservatives. No factory lines. No compromises dressed up in attractive packaging.
Ghee is warmth. Kaaram is fire. Together, they are the soul of a cuisine that has never needed to announce itself — only to be tasted.
Speed is a factory virtue. Our makers measure time in batches, not output — because the moment you rush a murukku or a halwa, you lose the very thing you were trying to make.
We source cold-pressed oils, unrefined jaggery, stone-ground flours, and single-origin spices from Tamil Nadu's farms and markets. What goes in is exactly what comes through in every bite.
We are not selling the idea of the past. We are keeping a living tradition alive — practiced, relevant, and served fresh to your door today.
Behind every tin of Ghee & Kaaram is a small team of makers — women and men who learned their craft not in culinary schools but at family stoves, at temple kitchens, at the elbow of someone who refused to let a recipe die unlearned.
Meenakshi, who has been pressing murukkus since before she could read, still checks each one by feel. Rajan, who sources our jaggery personally from the same Erode cooperative his father visited. These are not employees. They are the reason this food tastes the way it does.
Handcrafted in Tamil Nadu. No preservatives. No compromises. Pan-India delivery, made fresh to order.
